Enhancements Underway on Troon North Golf Club’s Award-winning Monument Course

Scottsdale, Ariz. (June 13, 2017) – Work recently began on Troon North Golf Club’s award-winning Monument course on a three-month course improvement project. Located in Scottsdale, Ariz., Troon North features two 18-hole Tom Weiskopf-designed golf courses – Monument and Pinnacle. The Monument course will reopen in September, while the Pinnacle course will remain open for daily-fee play throughout the summer. 

Troon’s Vice President of Golf Course Development Ron Despain is overseeing the project which includes updating green complexes to their original shape, size and contours by utilizing GPS coordinates gathered from Weiskopf’s original design. In addition, greens will be resurfaced with creeping A4 bent grass and collars will be resurfaced with TifGrand semi-dwarf Bermuda grass. Bunker renovations will.

Four Scottsdale Troon Courses Introduce Caddie Services

Boulders, The Phoenician, Kierland and Troon North Enhance Guest Experience With New Amenity

Scottsdale, Ariz. (November 29, 2016) – Boulders Resort & Spa, The Phoenician Golf Club, The Westin Kierland Golf Club and Troon North Golf Club have all introduced new caddie programs to provide an additional level of service for guests. When playing at any of the four golf properties, guests will have the option of playing with a Forecaddie, a Double Bag Carry Caddie (available at Boulders, The Phoenician and Kierland), a Single Bag Carry Caddie or choose to play without a caddie. 

A caddie’s primary job is to help golfers navigate the golf course, but caddies also assist with speed of play, improve course conditions by replacing or filling-in divots, properly fixing ball.

Westin Kierland Instructors Named Amongst Best In State by Golf Digest

Golf Digest, arguably the leading publication in the golf industry, recently named 14 golf instructors at Troon affiliated properties among the best teachers in the United States. Of those honored 3 of which are based at the Westin Kierland Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. The biennial accolade ranked golf instructors in every state across the country using a ballot system, asking instructors to rank their own peers. As a result, Westin Kierland Golf Club instructors named among Golf Digest's 2015-2016 list of the "Best Teachers in your State" include:

Whirlwind Golf Club at Wild Horse Pass Begins Clubhouse Expansion Project

Whirlwind Golf Club at Wild Horse Pass, located near the Phoenix suburb of Chandler, Arizona recently announced a new clubhouse expansion project that is currently underway with completion slated for winter 2016. Designed to enhance the experience of members and guests, the improvements will create new opportunities for additional club amenities, expanded event space, and provide a fresh look for both interior and exterior spaces.

The project includes a 2,500 square-foot expansion of the men’s and women’s locker rooms, golf shop, outdoor dining, and administrative areas. The building expansion also includes the creation of a new stone and rusted steel feature wall enhancing the entry experience and identity at the club’s front door and Sivlik Grill and a new entry into the golf shop and cart staging area. New interior furnishing and lighting throughout and patio expansion with feature courtyard and umbrellas will bring new life to the club.

SunRidge Canyon Completes New Golf Course Enhancements

SunRidge Canyon Golf Club, ranked amongst the “Top 20 Best Courses You Can Play” by Golf Magazine recently completed an impressive enhancement project that will be certain to elevate the club even higher in national and state rankings.

The project was designed to enhance agronomic conditions and improve upon playability, while maintaining the challenge that golfers have come to love at SunRidge Canyon and the club’s signature Wicked 6 finishing holes. All enhancements were unveiled during the SunRidge Canyon Golf Club re-opening on October 2, 2015.

"Upon purchasing the club in 2010, we have been committed to making SunRidge Canyon a total golf and dining experience and all of the recent enhancements were done with this goal in mind,” said Don Misheff, owner of SunRidge Canyon Golf Club.”
